Whitby!??
Ok so it looks like I’ve left it to late to get a cheap ticket for the train to Whitby.
£80 on the train, or £40 on the coach. I hate the coach (and there are only 3 a day. First one leaves Victoria at 8am (to fucking early!) or next one 1pm getting to Whitby at 9pm (to fucking late!)

Is anyone driving up who has room for me? Or who has any suggestions of how I can get there cheaper, something I might have mist?

(We used to get the train to Scarborough because it was cheaper to share a taxi the rest of the way but it is £88 to Scarborough and £79 to Whitby now?)

Have you tried getting two single tickets? They're sometimes cheaper. I'd go to a train station and see what the cheapest fare they can find is.

Yes that is how I can get it for £79 instead of £90 or more, £43.50 up and £35.50 back.(but i haven't asked at a real station but think they will say the same and don't have time to go to kings Cross.)Thanks anyway.

Yes we have room in our minibus! Please come with us, we've had some people drop out and I've been posting everywhere but haven't been able to find anyone else to come with us!

It would be about £40-45 plus petrol costs.

Oh yeah, more details: we can pick up at Caledonian Road station around noon (where the car hire is) or we are leaving ours in Finchley around 1 on the Thursday. Returning Monday around noon.

Cool! I’m in! I live just a few stops on the bus from Caledonian rd so that would be great!

So should I be at Caledonian rd station 12.00pm Thursday?

My phone battery is fucked so I have no phone right now if you need to call me so best sort all details here.

(What time do you think we will arrive at Whitby roughly? 6-ish?)

Yay!

Alan is meeting someone else (Fran if you know him) at 11:50 at Cally Road, so then would be good, as he is picking up the van at 12. Then driving back to Finchley where everyone else is meeting and leaving soon after, hopefully not later then 1. So hopefully 6ish assuming we don't hit any traffic!
